Code of Conduct

This page covers day-to-day conduct. For the full terms you agree to by participating — the Honor Code, allowed subjects, minors, risk — see the Honor Code & Terms of Participation.

Effective date: June 26, 2025

Spilled Cup is a free, open platform for teaching and learning. To keep it useful and welcoming for everyone, all participants — teachers, students, and contributors — are expected to follow this code of conduct.

What Spilled Cup is

Spilled Cup is a space for people to practice teaching, develop their skills, share knowledge, and learn from each other. Think of it as Toastmasters for teachers — a low-stakes, supportive environment where anyone can step up and teach, and where students actively shape how they want to learn.

What Spilled Cup is not

Expected behavior

Prohibited content and behavior

Enforcement

The Board of Directors reserves the right to remove any content, suspend any account, or revoke any teacher's access if conduct violates this policy or is otherwise deemed harmful to the community — at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

Board membership is limited to people who have taught at least one class on the platform and have been observed doing so by an existing board member. This ensures that the people setting policy are the same people actively using the platform.

Reporting

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this code of conduct, please report it to nitza@nitzas.com. We review all reports and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

This code of conduct may be updated as the community grows. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
